Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Warriors Group

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, fiends, and sinister influences growing in strength within the city.

Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).

The Reason for Division

With a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.

Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the team knows exactly where to head next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his own means, invading the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

The traitor then paid off his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each character has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks retribution.
  • The adventurer has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a nasty environment.
  • The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • However, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:

  • Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and Wicander defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by the clan.

This leaves them little choice but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.

Future Episodes

According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Questers and Planners tables.

Audiences can look forward to discovering which players will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
